The K3 HE applies switch technology Keychron had already delivered in the K2 HE to the low-profile K3 form factor it has built since 2020.

Scale context: $284,900 is a solid result but a quarter of what the K2 HE raised in 2024 — consistent with a routine line-extension launch rather than a breakout.

One Campaign, Two Keyboards

This record covers the K3 HE, but the Kickstarter project sold two distinct boards. Reward data below is from the campaign's rewards page (all tiers now closed):

K3 HE-model rewards account for 1,065 of 2,044 backers. The launch press release cited early-backer pricing "starting at $109.99"; no tier at that price survives on the rewards page, so any launch-window discount tier is no longer visible to us. • The creator is not silent: 19 updates over the campaign's life, the latest five weeks ago.
• Retail availability (in stock at keychron.com, independent review units since April) corroborates that production volume exists.

Pricing Reality

The Kickstarter discount was small: the $115 base reward against a $119.99 retail price that appeared in GameRevolution's April review and roughly $119 at Keychron official today per keeb-finder — about $5 for taking on a two-month wait. As with the K2 HE, this is the playbook-brand shape: backing was a modest-discount preorder, not a bet on whether the product would exist.

Who This Is For

Reasonable fit:

• Gamers who want Hall Effect features — per-key actuation (0.2–2.9mm), rapid trigger, analog mode — in a slim, portable board.
• Multi-device users who want USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth in one low-profile keyboard.
• Anyone who wanted the K2 HE's switch tech but found it too tall.

Consider passing:

• You need a full-size layout — this is 75%.
• Battery life matters to you: Notebookcheck's launch coverage cites 55 hours for the K3 HE. The 550-hour figure in Keychron's marketing belongs to the K3 Ultra sibling, not this board.
• You expected QMK: the campaign advertises the web-based Keychron Launcher, and Notebookcheck describes the firmware as ZMK-based. We could not confirm QMK support for the K3 HE.

Red Flags Scan

No kill switches triggered; no shell-company indicators. The creator is an identifiable, multi-campaign manufacturer with retail distribution — the opposite of the zero-history profile that drives most crowdfunding losses. The campaign carried Kickstarter's "Project We Love" badge and disclosed its use of ad agency Jellop, common for large campaigns and not itself a risk marker.

The flags we did find were in this record's own earlier version: estimated funding figures presented as fact, a 550-hour battery claim that belongs to the other keyboard in the campaign, and an unconfirmed QMK firmware claim. All corrected or removed in this revision.
