BackerGuardian is committed to accuracy. We publicly document all corrections to our campaign analyses, update Trust Scores when new evidence emerges, and maintain transparent records of all changes.
Corrections Policy
Our Commitment to Accuracy
BackerGuardian's forensic analyses are evidence-based, but we acknowledge that new information can change our assessments. We are committed to:
- Promptly correcting factual errors when verified
- Updating Trust Scores when material new evidence emerges
- Transparently documenting all corrections with timestamps
- Preserving the original analysis for audit purposes

Types of Corrections
Factual Corrections
Errors in objective facts (dates, funding amounts, names, etc.) are corrected immediately upon verification. The original text is struck through, and the correction is noted with a timestamp.
Analysis Updates
When new evidence changes our risk assessment (e.g., prototype video released, creator responds to concerns), we update the analysis with a new section documenting the development and recalculate the Trust Score.
Creator Responses
Campaign creators are welcome to provide official responses to our analyses. These responses are published in full (or summarized if excessively long) without editorial changes. Creator responses do not automatically change Trust Scores but are considered in any reassessment.
What We Do NOT Correct
- Opinions: Risk assessments are our analysis, not statements of fact
- Predictions: We cannot "correct" future outcomes
- Interpretation differences: Disagreement with our analysis methodology
- Unverifiable claims: Corrections require documented evidence
Correction Log
All corrections are logged in our public Correction Log, accessible at /corrections/log. This log includes the date, campaign affected, nature of correction, and any Trust Score changes.
E-E-A-T Compliance
This corrections policy is part of BackerGuardian's commitment to Trustworthiness under Google's E-E-A-T quality guidelines. Maintaining transparent correction procedures is essential for YMYL (Your Money Your Life) content.
