A note on the totals, because sources disagree at the margins. Press coverage published October 1, 2025 reported $20,161,265 from 20,206 backers "as of September 30" (3D Printing Industry, Manufactur3D). Kicktraq's settled campaign figure is $20,170,530 from 20,217 backers, which is what we carry. A later count of $20,614,548 from 20,680 backers appears at 3DWithUs and almost certainly includes post-campaign late pledges. Every version supports the same headline: the most funded 3D-printer project in Kickstarter history.

Two of those notes deserve context on re-verification. The "CES 2026 showcase" entry is the machinery's note from the February 2026 scoring pass; we did not independently re-verify a CES appearance this pass, though the company demonstrably ran hands-on demos at maker events across Europe and North America during the campaign (Manufactur3D). The "March 2026 delivery realistic" note aged well: it referred to the late-pledge batch, and the creator's published schedule put the latest expected local delivery for late pledges at March 15, 2026 (Kickstarter Update 11, mirrored on Snapmaker's forum).

What the Machine Is

The U1 is a CoreXY multi-color printer whose defining mechanism is SnapSwap: four independent toolheads swapped in about five seconds, instead of one nozzle purging between filaments. Snapmaker's claim — up to five times faster multi-color printing and up to 80% less filament waste than purge-based systems — is the campaign's whole pitch (3D Printing Industry).

Verified specifications, per the official product page: 270 x 270 x 270 mm build volume, four toolheads included, 5-second toolhead swap, four simultaneous colors via the four heads, 300C hotends, 20,000 mm/s2 acceleration. The machine is an open-frame design — a top cover with filtration is a separately sold accessory (listed $249). Two corrections from our February 2026 record are worth stating plainly: this record previously listed a 300 mm cube and an enclosed chamber. The build volume is 270 mm per axis, and the base machine is not enclosed. Both are fixed as of this pass.

Delivery Record

This is the section that matters for the trust ledger, because a $20M raise proves marketing, not manufacturing.

• October tier: by the creator's December 2, 2025 update, around 2,300 U1 printers had already arrived with backers, with Australia and Japan timing spelled out to the week (Update 11, forum mirror).
• November tiers: the same update reported all November reward tiers "shipping steadily," with completion expected by the first week of December 2025 and estimates "consistent with the estimates shared during the Kickstarter campaign."
• Late pledges: latest expected local delivery of March 15, 2026 for on-time survey completion; Snapmaker's support pages later listed some late-pledge warehouse arrivals of March 20 – April 5, 2026 with delivery April 5–20 (Snapmaker support).
• Retail: per 3DWithUs, pre-order pricing ($849) ran until April 10, 2026, with retail at $899 and global warehouse stock expected from that date. At our July 27, 2026 check, the official US store listed the U1 at $899 (marked down from $999) but showed a notify-me state rather than add-to-cart, suggesting demand is still outrunning stock.

Ledger state as we record it: funded, fulfilled on campaign tiers within the promised windows per creator-published schedules; late-pledge fulfillment extended into April 2026. Our searches this pass found no pattern of delivery complaints or silent-backer threads, which for a 20,000-unit fulfillment is notable. Caveat honestly held: the delivery evidence above is creator-published; we have not audited backer-side receipt at scale.

Independent hands-on coverage confirms real machines in reviewers' hands: Tom's Hardware reviewed it positively as "an affordable tool changer for all," and Make: (January 21, 2026) called it fast, capable, and cheap for a tool changer while flagging that some housing plastic felt thin and joints could pop out of place. VoxelMatters reviewed it as the leading four-color machine in its class.
